Room was small and outdated but adequate for the area. Front desk staff was not nice. He was actually rude when he told me I didn't have a room. I just informed him I would be back with confirmation and I was, He then found my room. Surprise

Reasonably priced hotel close to the freeway.

I was able to get an early check-in and at a very reasonable rate. Manager was very friendly. The room was clean. Quiet room although there was some drag racing going on nearby late at night. I would definitely go back if in the area.

Good place to spend the night

Pros: Location
Cons: Bedding
Didn't really have any major complaints. The bedding was pretty thin and old and about what you would expect for the price. TV reception was pretty marginal and not many channels either. Someone had left food in the 'fridge and that was a little offputting. Nice shower and good location for places in Castro Valley. If you're just looking for a place to crash the night, and don't want to spend much, this place is fine.

Filthy room

Upon arrival, we entered our room to find the toilet stopped up with excrement and toilet paper. The manager switched us to another room and blamed housekeeping. The second room featured heavily stained bedding, lights not working, and sunflower seeds on the stained carpet. What a mess! As this was the only room in the area, we stayed. Never again!

Very clean and comfortable

Pros: Very clean and quiet. Easy access to rooms from parking lot. No long walk to rooms!
I was pleasantly surprised by my visit to the Castro Valley Inn. The rooms are simple, but VERY clean. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was just sweet rolls, but it did the job!
